IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech Admission 2021 invites applications to M.Tech. programmes in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth System Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering for the year 2021-2022. The M.Tech. the curriculum at IIT Gandhinagar has been designed to be highly creative with a focus on interdisciplinary skills and high-quality thesis work. IIT Gandhinagar also offers the option of a post-graduate diploma in engineering (PGDIIT), which is a one year programme designed to be an intensive course-work based programme with no thesis requirements.

Eligibility: IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech Admission 2021

• Minimum of 55% marks / 5.5 (on a 10 point scale) in B.E. /B.Tech./M.Sc. or equivalent in appropriate branches (50% marks for SC /ST)
• Candidates who have a valid GATE score (at the time of interview/written test) are eligible to apply for M.Tech. GATE is not required for application to M.Tech. on a part-time basis or for the PGDIIT programme.
• B.Tech. graduates from the IITs with CGPA/CPI of 8.0 or above (on the scale of 10) would be eligible to admission without having to appear in GATE

The eligibility criteria mentioned above is minimum and the disciplines may use higher cut-off levels for shortlisting. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories would be eligible for relaxations, as per norms, in the selection criteria.

Financial Support

Eligible candidates admitted to full-time M.Tech. the programme will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs.12,400/-. The students in PGDIIT/ M.Tech. on Part time basis will not receive any stipend/scholarship.

Travel Scholarships

Institute encourages M.Tech. students to present their research work at national and international conferences and provides travel scholarships of up to Rs. 60000/- to such students.

Admission Procedure: IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech Admission 2021

Admission is generally offered on the basis of a written test and interview. The Institute will invite a limited number of applicants for a written test and interview based on the academic records and/or GATE score. The Institute reserves the right to use its own judgment while determining the candidate’s level of competency based on the available information. The final selection will be based on all of the above, viz., academic records, GATE score, written test and interview. The Institute may also exercise the option of offering admission to a few outstanding candidates based on academic record and/or GATE, without calling them for written test and interview.

The written test is generally based on the topics related to general aptitude (logical reasoning, analytical and numerical ability, etc.), engineering mathematics, and basic courses in various disciplines up to a 3rd year of the undergraduate programme. The candidates who do not qualify in the written test need not appear for the interview. The reserved category candidates will be given due relaxation in cutoff marks as per the norms. Considering the covid-19 scenario, interview and written test (if any) will happen via online platform.

NITIE Mumbai runs two Post Graduate Diploma courses for Engineers in which admission is based on GATE score plus GD/PI. It is one of the best’s institutions for pursuing PG in the field of Industrial Engineering. On the Basis of average package placement of this institute, it is even better than most of the IIT’s. NITIE Admission 2021 Eligibility

Engineering/Technology graduates in any branch with aggregate* 60% marks (relaxation of 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD (persons with disabilities) candidates). Their admission will stand cancelled in case they fail to meet the aforementioned requirements.

NITIE Admission 2021 Selection Process

• Admission will be based on online Personal Interview (PI) with appropriate weightage to GATE scores academic performance and relevant experience of reputed Industrial Organization/Academic institution. Shortlisted international candidates should attend PIs along with Indian students.
• Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC-NC (non-creamy) and PwD candidates as per Government of India rules.
• Teaching Assistantships are available to eligible candidates as per rules

Application Fee

Fees for each programme is Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates) for applicants from India and SAARC countries and USD 50 for International students, plus bank charges as applicable. The fee can be paid online.

Program Fee for PGDIE is approx. 12 lakhs and PGDSM is approx. 14 lakhs (as per 2019-2021 fee structure)

For Engineering Disciplines

• The applicants for M.Tech and M.S. must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Master’s degree in Science with minimum 60 percent/6.5 CPI (on a 10 point Scale).
• The applicants for Ph.D. in CSE/ECE should have a Master’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)r Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) or closely related areas from any recognized University with a minimum of 70% marks. In case of candidates having relevant work/ research experience in academia/ industry after the Master’s degree, the minimum marks requirement may be relaxed. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with exceptionally good academic record will also be considered for admission to the Ph.D. program subject to a minimum CGPA of 8.5 on a 10.0 point scale.
• The applicants for Ph.D in Mechanical and MME must have a M.Tech. In Mechanical or Mechatronics or in relevent areas with minimum 60% marks/6.5 CPI (on a 10 point Scale)..

For Physics and Mathematics Disciplines

The applicants for Ph.D. must have a Master’s degree in respective or allied area with minimum 60 percent/6.5 CPI (on a 10 point Scale).

For Humanities and Social Sciences

The applicants for Ph.D. should have a Master’s degree in relevant/ interdisciplinary subject with minimum 55 percent marks / 5.5 CPI (on a 10 point scale).

Procedure
The applicants must apply for admission on prescribed forms, which must be sent directly to the Chairman, AC PGC.

• Pattern of question paper for the written exam conducted by the institute.
• The question paper will be of one and half hour duration. It will consist of objective and short answer type questions. There will be NO negative marking.
• All admissions will be made on approval by the Chairman, Academic Council on the recommendations of the duly constituted selection committees and the Chairman, AC PGC. The constitution of the selection committee will be proposed by the Chairman, AC PGC, and approved by the Chairman, Academic Council.
• Admission to the M. Tech. program may be made directly based on the performance in the qualifying examination, GATE score, and overall academic record of the candidates. In addition, some of the candidates may also be called for written tests and/or interviews.
• Admission to the M.S. and Ph.D. programs will be based on written tests, interviews and/or GATE score.
• The selected candidates who have completed all the examinations including thesis examination and the viva voce before the date of registration but are unable to produce the certificate in proof of having passed and secured the minimum specified qualifying marks, may be considered for provisional admission. However, if admitted provisionally, they will be required to produce the evidence of their having passed the qualifying degree examination with minimum specified marks before the beginning date of the second mid-semester examination as specified in the academic calendar, failing which the admission may be canceled.
• On approval by the Chairman of the Academic Council, the Chairman of the AC PGC will issue the admission letters to the candidates. Candidates will be required to deposit the prescribed fee on or before the specified date.
• In case a candidate does not accept the offer by paying the prescribed fee by the specified date, the offer of admission may stand withdrawn, and the admission be offered to a candidate on the waiting list, if any, in order of merit.
• The offer of admission may also stand withdrawn if the candidate who has accepted the offer fails to register by the date for late registration.

TWO-year M Tech in Computer Science:

Eligibility

(i) Master’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Physics/ Electronic Science/Computer Science/Computer Applications/Information Technology or,

(ii) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE or, GRAD-IETE or, DOEACC ‘B’ Level).

Stipend:  8000/- per month (Offered at Kolkata).

Selection Procedure:

A candidate is admitted to this programme through written tests and interview. A few candidates may be sponsored by government, semi-government, public sector undertakings and autonomous institutions but such candidates will also be admitted through the ISI Admission Test; the Institute at its discretion may apply a different criterion for such candidates. A candidate would be considered sponsored only if he/she is granted leave and full salary by the employer for the entire duration of the course. Sponsored candidates will not receive any stipend and their sponsors will have to pay a tuition fee of  20,000/- per year.

The Admission Test typically consists of two parts:
(i) a multiple-choice and/or descriptive test in Mathematics at the undergraduate level;
(ii) a multiple-choice and/or descriptive test comprising the following:

Group A: A test for all candidates in Mathematics at the undergraduate level and in logical reasoning.
Group B: A test, divided into five sections carrying equal marks, in Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at the postgraduate level and in Computer Science, Engineering and Technology at the B Tech level. Candidates must answer questions from any one of these sections.

A candidate with a valid GATE score above a threshold (to be decided by the Selection Committee) in his/her own subject will be directly called for interview. Final selection of such candidates would be based on their academic records and their performance in the interview. These candidates are required to apply, like all other candidates, in the prescribed application form.

TWO-year M Tech in Quality, Reliability and Operations Research

The programme is offered in two streams:
• Statistics Stream for candidates with qualifications (i), (ii), or (iv), mentioned above;
• Engineering Stream for candidates with an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Technology.

Eligibility

(i) Master’s degree in Statistics or Master’s degree in Mathematics with Probability and Statistics as major subjects

or

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent or PG diploma in SQC & OR from ISI and

(ii) Knowledge of Mathematics at graduate level and knowledge of Physics and Chemistry at Higher Secondary level. Stipend ₹ 8000/- per month (Offered at Kolkata).

Selection Procedure:

All candidates, including sponsored ones, are admitted through written tests and interview. For admission to this course, valid GATE score is not necessary, and candidates with valid GATE scores also must take the written tests. There is, however, a provision for sponsorship by government, semi-government, public sector undertakings, autonomous institutions and industrial organisations, which can sponsor candidates from their establishments, provided they satisfy the eligibility requirements. The Institute, at its discretion, may apply a different criterion for such candidates. A candidate would be considered sponsored only if the employer gives him/her leave and full salary for the entire duration of the programme. Sponsored candidates will not receive any stipend and their sponsors will have to pay a tuition fee of ₹ 20,000/- per year.

The Admission Test consists of two parts:

A student has to answer questions from Mathematics section compulsorily and the remaining questions from two or more sections of his/her choice.

Candidates from outside India may send an email to dean@isical.ac.in with subject Admission 2015-2016 for the application procedure. Candidates in India can apply only ON-LINE through the official website http://www.isical.ac.in/~admission/. Applicants should read carefully the instructions, from our Prospectus given in the website before filling in the application form. An applicant must have access to the Internet, an email account, acrobat reader and need to have a digital copy of his/her photo and signature in appropriate format and size (see Prospectus).

Application Fee: Rs 600.00 for all applicants in the general category and all applicants for the JRF programmes (irrespective of reservation category),  Rs 300.00 for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged candidates for all programmes excluding JRF programmes.
Mode of payment: The challan generated by the on-line system must be taken to any branch of State Bank of India. The bank will accept only in cash the application fee as given above and bank charges ( Rs 60.00).

Doing a postgraduate (PG) degree has not been popular among engineering students as a result of the wide range of jobs that were once available to graduates but this situation is quickly changing. With an unsure job market and increase in demand for expert professionals, today a large section of engineering graduates are going toward a PG degree.
