Qualification for IIIT DELHI M.Tech Admission 2019

For CSE: B.Tech/BE or MCA/MSc in CS/IT (& its allied areas) with a CGPA of at least 7.00 out of 10 or 65% marks.

For ECE: B.Tech/BE in ECE/EE (& its allied areas) or MSc in Electronics (for ECE) with a CGPA of at least 7.00 out of 10 or 65% marks.

For CB: B.Tech/BE in CS/IT/Math-and-Computing. or B.Tech/BE in any other discipline/ MCA/ MSc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Sciences)/ B.Pharm/MBBS with at least one computer programming course, and at least two Mathematics courses

Notes:

• Both GATE and Non-GATE candidates are eligible to apply for M.Tech admission.

Selection Process of IIIT DELHI M.Tech Admission 2019

The selection process of IIITD M.Tech Admission 2019 consists of the following three stages:

Stage 1

The applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their academic record as well as GATE 2017/2018/2019 scores (not applicable for Non-GATE applicants).

Stage 2

This will be an aptitude test (will cover basic Mathematics, Analytical Abilities and Comprehension Skills). Shortlisted applicants from stages 1 are called for this stage.

Eligibility

Entrance test:

The entrance test consists of written test and personal interview. It shall be conducted in seven places across India*:

Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The candidates are required to give at least 3 choices of the places for Entrance Test in order of preference. The entrance test will be held during the week (25th-30thMay 2015). The exact venue, date & time shall be sent to you by e-mail. The same information shall also be available to you in the website.

Written Test:

The written test shall be of one hour duration consisting of multiple choice type questions carrying 2 marks each. Total mark of the written test is one hundred (100). There will be negative marking of 0.5 for every wrong answer.

M.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering):

Candidates possessing valid GATE (CS) score are exempted from written test. However they will have to apply on-line and pay the application fee mentioned in the How to Apply section and appear for the personal interview. They may at their option appear for written test as well. In such a case the score of the written test shall supersede the GATE score for the purpose of generation of merit list and the GATE score shall not be considered.

M.Tech. (Communication Engineering & Signal Processing):

Candidates possessing valid GATE (EC/IN/EE) score are exempted from written test. However they will have to apply on-line and pay the application fee mentioned in the How to Apply section and appear for the personal interview. They may at their option appear for written test as well. In such a case the score of the written test shall supersede the GATE score for the purpose of generation of merit list and the GATE score shall not be considered.

Personal Interview:

The personal interview is mandatory for all the candidates. It will be conducted on the same day of the written test and may continue for the next day if necessary.

*The test shall be held in the above said centres subject to a considerable number of candidates otherwise the students will be asked to appear the test in the nearest centre.

Final Selection:

The final selection shall be based on the candidates’ performance in the following:

• Performance in the written Test/ GATE Marks out of 100.
• Performance in the personal interview.
• Career Marks.

The selected candidates shall be informed by mail. The same information shall also be available in the institute website.

Candidates, who are selected for admission based on the choice of programme exercised by them, must indicate their acceptance of the admission offer and all related conditions by paying the first instalment of fees as detailed in the offer of admission, before the date mentioned therein.

The es are expected to begin by August 2015. At this time, the students will be given a manual of policies and regulations, which will be binding on them.

Aid and Scholarships

For M.Tech. (CSE):

Candidates should take note that at present scholarships are not available for GATE (EC/IN/EE) Qualified candidates who wish to take admission in M.Tech. (Communication Engineering & Signal Processing) as the approval from the AICTE is not available for the programme. However the Governing Body Scholarship of Rs.

20,000/- per year shall be awarded to the topper of the batch based on their academic performance in each year.

Eligibility criteria:

Details of Admission Test GAT (PGT) – 2015:

The duration of the test is 2 hours. The test consists of three sections.

Note:

i)All questions are objective type (multiple choice questions). Each question has four options out of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer. The unanswered questions will receive nil marks.

ii)GATE qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (PGT) – 2015, however they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend counselling as per the schedule.

Admission Procedure

Admission to Postgraduate programmes will be based on the performance in the Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE 2015) and an interview to be held at IIIT Hyderabad

About Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE 2015):

An all-India examination to test the preparedness of the applicants will be held on 19 April, 2015. The examination will be held at Hyderabad and a number of major cities in the country depending on the number of applicants from each region. The entrance examination will consist of two papers. Paper I test the general aptitude of the candidate and will consist of objective questions from Mathematics, Programming, and Logical Reasoning. Paper II is the Subject Paper, which tests the candidate’s subject knowledge.

Application Fees:

1. Applicants can apply for one or more programmes in the same form by indicating choices.
2. The application fee is Rs. 2000/- for one programme and Rs. 50/- extra for each additional programme applied for.
3. Application fee can be paid either through Credit Card or through Demand Draft.

• Credit Card – While filling-in the Main Registration form, the candidate can opt for Credit Card option follow the subsequent instruction.
• Demand Draft– While filling-in the Main Registration form, the candidate can opt for Demand Draft option. After submitting the Main Registration form. Demand Draft in favor of IIIT Hyderabad for appropriate amount should be drawn. A candidate must write application number (received in the confirmation mail) along with the name, email id on the reverse side of the demand draft and send the same to the Chairman, PG Admissions, IIIT, Gachibowli, Hyderabad-500032, Andhra Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria for IIIT-Delhi M.Tech 2014 admissions:

All applicants must have a valid GATE score (2013/2014) in CS/IT, EC/EE. They must have a B.Tech/B.E. in CS/IT/ECE/EE with a CGPA of at least 6.5 out of 10 or 65%

They must have at least 60% in all previous degrees including 10+2

Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form
IIIT-Delhi provides relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/CW category candidates

Specifically, candidates under these categories must have a B.Tech/B.E in CS/IT/ECE/EE with a CGPA of at least 6.0 out of 10 or 60%

They must have at least 55% in all previous degree including 10+2

Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form
MCA/M.Sc degree is considered equivalent to the B.Tech/BE degree in CS/IT/ECE/EE

Their eligibility criteria are the same as given above

Note: Candidates who are appearing in the final examination are also eligible to apply

They are required to give their last CGPA/aggregate percentage of marks

Candidates that satisfy the eligibility criteria must go through the application process and the selection process before they qualify for admission to the M.Tech program at IIIT Delhi

Selection Process for IIIT-Delhi M.Tech 2014 admissions:

The selection for M.Tech admission will comprise of three stages

1st Stage: The applicants will be screened on the basis of GATE scores as well as their previous academic record (B.Tech/BE, 10+2). A maximum of 350 (230 for CS and 120 for ECE) students will be invited to IIIT Delhi to participate in the second stage

Note for CSE candidates: The candidates applying for an M.Tech in CSE (all specializations), if shortlisted for the second stage, will be asked to participate in an on-line coding competition, results of which will be considered in the stages that follow

This will be a pre-test at their own place before coming for the second stage in IIIT Delhi

2nd Stage: The screened candidates have to appear for a written exam in IIIT Delhi that will test the candidates on mathematics, analytical abilities and comprehension skills

Depending on the results of this test, a maximum of 250 (160 for CS and 90 for ECE) candidates will be invited to take part in the third stage, which will also take place in IIIT Delhi

3rd Stage: The candidates will be interviewed by the IIIT Delhi Faculty members

After Selection: This information applies to only those candidates that are admitted to the M.Tech program

IIIT Delhi will support a maximum of 50 GATE scholarships for CSE and 20 GATE scholarships for ECE

Fees and Assistantship: The fee for the entire M.Tech program is Rs 2.5 Lac (i.e. Rs 1.25 Lac per year if M.Tech is completed within 4 semesters)
